ManGlaze matte nail polish review and swatches.

BEWARE: picture heavy post

Marc from ManGlaze was kindly sent me 3 of their products for review. Oh my God, these are just so---------------WOW.  There should be another word added in the dictionary for such extreme awesome-ness!
This is what I received: Just looks at that freakin' amazing artwork on the labels!!!!!!!
(left to right) Hot mess, Matte Astrophe, Matte is Murder

The first polish I applied was Matte Is Murder. It is a black matte polish replaced the original 'The Death Tar'. But it's not just plain matte black, there's rainbow shimmer in it, which you can see in the pictures below with flash. And if you are thinking my nail polish application skills have suddenly improved, I hate to admit that's not the case. It's just that the formula in these polishes is perfection!  It's so smooth and easy to apply. Like all matte polishes, it dries fast, but you have enough time to paint your nails neatly. Absolutely no clean up was required! Someone please pinch me, I'm sure this is a dream, a wonderful, wonderful dream.
(this shows 2 coats)
See all that lovely shimmer?

Below are the pictures without flash.

After that I added a coat of Hot Mess, which is a glitter matte top coat. Matte glitter? Tell me what could be cooler than that? Oh, and I wore this for 4 whole days, which is eternity for me. And I got a hundred million compliments *blush* ! There was slight tip wear on my index finger on the 3rd day. But you couldn't make out unless you got your eyes close enough to have me poking my nails in your eye. And believe me, I can do that. When I was 6, there was a girl in class who I hated and I pulled all the eyelashes of her right eye out in one pull during a cat fight. Hmmm, must have hurt, I guess.
Anyways, my nails now looked so awesome, that I took a million pix! Enjoy!
My phone, my precious phone!

I still have to review Matte Astrophe, I promise to do so soon, but I'm busy studying for my exams right now, so it may take some time.

Hurraw! lip balm review

I'm having one of those days when I don't know how to start a post....I think the reason is I was up all night yesterday thinking what I'm going to put in this review, I couldn't help it, they were so awesome. And now I can't remember any of it. Anyways, I'll try!

The incredibly sweet Corrie from Hurraw! asked me which flavours I would like to try. Being the greedy bum I am, I named 6 flavours :P  I was honestly joking, I did not really expect Hurraw! to send me so many flavours! But they did! Awww, thanx Corrie!

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package( by that I mean, tore open like a hungry cave-woman), was that the packaging contents are made from recycled paper! Thumbs up, Hurraw!

PRICE : $ 3.75 , really reasonable for a lip balm, especially this one, you will come to know.

DESIGN/ PACKAGING : Hurraw! is not regular round lip balm, it it oval shaped(see the above picture) so that it can fit into any jeans pocket! How cool is that! The flavours are visibly printed, I like to know what flavour I'm wearing :P The ingredients are also neatly printed, so no complaints on that.

TEXTURE: Hurraw lip balms are super smoooooooooooth, they glide onto the lips so well, I think thats because they have used a lot of oils in it. It smooths over the lips, so unless you want a thick layer, you don't need to use a lot of balm every time. It is so smooth, I can apply this balm perfectly while sleeping.

FLAVOURS: There are 12 awesome flavours of Hurraw! available. All of the ones I received have really nice smells. The grapefruit and lime ones are so fruity and pleasant. I loved the Grapefruit one!!!The chocolate and Vanilla flavours just make you so hungry, they smell so yummy; so like if you are on a diet, don't buy these, cuz then your diet will go to the dumps. The vanilla one actually has tiny vanilla beans on it! The mint one reminds of some candy or gum, can't recall which one, don't you hate it when that happens?
The cinnamon one is  very different,it's cinnamon-ish, I can't think of any other desription. Not everyone might like it, but I did.
Did I mention I loved the Grapefriut one?

LASTING POWER: About one and a half hours. This could have been more, in my opinion, it doesn't last as long as my other lip balms. But that might be because Hurraw only requires a very thin layer to smoothen onto the lips, so a thin layer gets wiped off easier.

OTHER STUFF: It's shelf life is less compared to other lip balms, because it is a raw pressed balm, made with no preservatives. It is best to use it within one year of purchase, which is fine anyways. With such nice quality, I'll finish a balm in a few weeks. I've been seriously using it so often.
I have to mention, it's formula is such that it will last in back jeans pocket without melting and becoming goooey-goooey.

Oh, and when you purchase your balms, they come in a tea bag like this:

So cute!

Overall, I would give Hurraw! a 9/10. The one mark is cut due to the shelf life being less, otherwise this is puuurrrfect :-)

Thursday

a poop mani and another one.

Plz ignore the color of the base polish. I know it looks like poop *pukes*, it did not look so bad in the bottle. I tossed it in the dustbin after doing this mani.

Thanx for looking!

Julie Hewett cosmetics review and swatches

The awesome Rhonda from Julie Hewett cosmetics sent me some of their products for review. And for the the first time ever, my mom was Oooh-aahing along with me when I opened the package, lol, she loved the products too!

I'll start with my favourite product. Lip Lush in Barlot. Lip Lush, what an appropriate name! It does make your lips feel amazingly luscious! It has a high shine, appiles like a dream, and gives your lips that perfect look, along with keeping them moisturised. It makes your lips looks totally fabulous! The one that I received, Bardot, is a beautiful bronze color. One coat for a subtle sheen, two or three coats that lovely bronze color to show its true potential!(the 2nd picture shows one coat on top, and two coats below it) It has everything you want in a gloss :)))) Oh, yeah, it's supposed to have the essence of ginger, but I did not detect any scent, and I'm totally fine with that, especially since I don't like ginger. Anyways, this one is a must have.

(top to bottom) Oona noir, Scarlet and Nude noir
Now for the lipstciks, which are from the Noir collection.Although I'm more of a lip gloss girl, these were actually really nice. I'll say it all frankly, the best lipsticks I've come accross. They all applied like butter, best thing about them is that their pigment is subtle, so you can control how dark you want the color to be. And best of all, no odour, unlike all other lipsticks I've seen. I hate the odour of lipsticks, so these came as a happy surprise! These lipsticks themselves are very moisturising, so don't need to put balm below them. That is a huge plus point because balm doesn't let the color of lipsticks last for make than an hour, which is so frustrating. I loved the color of Oona and Nude. Scarlet was also pretty, but not my type of color, it was the most pigmented, but I don't think I could carry off that color. If you don't know which red would suit you the best, their website has a section called ''which red are you'' to help you choose :)

Camellia Lip Balm. What do I say about this? It should be renamed 'Rhea's life saviour' , lol. At last, a balm which truly worked for me! *jumps with joy*  My lips are usually really dry, I've tried many lip balms, all of them did moisten my lips, but a thin layer of my lips would begin to peel off in some time. Not with this balm, I think it's because the secret lies in the camellia oil contained in it, which is supposed to be closest to human skin oil. It is supposed to be good for your skin as well, but I'm not going to waste it on that, I'm gonna save it for my lips, since my skin care products work just fine :)

Goldie: This is a cream puff starlight shine for that 'red carpet glow'. pat over eye shadows, lips, and cheeks and mix with moisturiser for an all-over body glow. That's what it says, and I couldn't agree more. Goldie works like magic, another must-have, something I know I'm gonna use a lot.

Peachie: this is a creamy coral for the cheeks that doubles as a lip color, and a very luscious one! It gives a perfect flirty, yet oh-so natural flush, and looks really nice on the lips as well, I love it!!!! This is supposed to be julie's secret weapon for those big screen close ups, and I can see why!OMG, this one gives such a natural glow to your face!!!! It will suit all skin tones as per me.

Ok, Julie Hewett  has all the products to give you a stunning look, buy them here.

Orly Sweet Collection swatches and review

OMG OMG OMG, I just received 3 polishes of the 6 ORLY Sweet Collection(Spring 2010)  for review!!!!!
I thought these colors looked nice in the pictures, but in real life, these are simply gorgeous! I am so excited I don't even know how to start. *takes a deep breath*

Sweet
ORLY Spring II 2010 Collection
Satisfy Your Sugar Craving

With a playful, yet nostalgic look back at iconic sugary treats, the NEW ORLY Spring II 2010 Sweet Collection not only reminds us of our childhood favorites and past times, but stays on trend with a throwback to Jackie O’s pastel pillbox hats. This collection incorporates spring’s feminine pastels by adding a milky white opaque tone to baby pinks, blues, yellows, purples and greens.
Each Nail Lacquer in the Sweet Collection comes with a FREE(super cute) matching flavored mini lip gloss key chain.

These are the three colors that were sent to me: (from L to R
Show off your pretty Pixy Stix in Pink Crème
Cute as a Gumdrop button in Pastel Turquoise Crème
Lollipop lollipop oooh lolli lollipop. Sing it out loud in Pastel Purple Crème

 Lollipop
The 1st one up is Lollipop.
Onto the review and swatch. Now I know why my fellow bloggers complain about photographing purples, it really is difficult. The color 2nd picture is more accurate.Lollipop is a gorgeous purple pastel crème,and it was a one-coater! yay! Amazing formula, flawless application and super-glossy! The swatch is without top coat. Oh, how much I love polishes that are glossy without a top coat....! <3
The lip gloss along with it is a purple frost, I loved the sweet lollipop scent of this one :)

Pixy Stix

This one took 3 coats to cover the nail line. But the result was so worth it. The color is a medium pastel pink, and looks sort of peachy in some kinds of lighting. This is the sort of color that would look great on almost all skin tones. What do I say, I simply love this color! The application was really good, although not as flawless a with Lollipop. And as I said before, 3 coats to perfection.
The lip gloss along with this was a shimmer.

Gumdrop

Gumdrop was my favourite out of the collection. I think it might be my favourite out of all the polishes I have. I admit, I have a pretty small stash, and I don't have a color anything similar to this. This one was just beautiful! It is a little more on the blue side on the nails, where as in the bottle it looks sort of greener. I wouldn't call this color minty, but I wouldn't call it gummy either, it's just too beautiful to be a gum color. Application was amazing like the other two, a bit on the thicker side, which is very good for pastels. Two coats for this one, but you can get away with one if you are careful.
The gumdrop lip gloss was a shimmer , really nice smell, yummy!

Overall, I was really pleased with this collection. Such nice spring pastel colors, I love pastels. The formula was one of the best I've come across. Oh, you know it all, you guys(I mean gals) have already tried this collection and everyone has loved it! As per the brochure, release is in April 2010, these are available at ORLYbeauty,  Sally BeautyVictoria nail Supply, and elsewhere. If you haven't already gotten these, I suggest you get them as soon as possible cuz these are not to miss out on!

Sunday

V-day mani!

Hello, my lovely readers! It had been an exhausting week for me, so I did not end up doing any nail art for V-day. I just painted my nails with a red VOV nail polish. The polish was actually pink, but when I put top coat, it became raspberry red, which is also nice :)  My top coat does that to some colors, it also turns all mint greens to grass green, that I don't like!

Review: Nail Delights(part 3 of 3)

At last, I'm on part 3! Yay! I am seriously lagging behind on reviews, the packages are arriving faster than I can review them.

This is another look I created with the decals I reviewed in part 1. Since I have already reviewed them, I am not reviewing them again in this post. I wish I had more of these, they look so darn pretty! This pic does them no justice. Just in case you are wondering, the base is a franken I made, using some cheapie polishes :P

This is the only product from Nail delights I was not happy with. These hearts just did not take to the shape of my nails, and kept getting stuff everywhere when they dried, in spite if millions of layers of topcoat. But they would look nice if you had flatter nails. Maybe they won't be so much of a trouble if I use only 2 or 3 on each nail.

href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_agSEn8KRriI/S3bBcar5mVI/AAAAAAAAAGM/loFkA_AJsmk/s1600-h/P1000900.JPG">

OMG, I really liked these water decals and was very excited about them, and then I realised my nails were too small for them. WHAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! why why why???? And those super cute dangles from Kiss, I couldn't use them cuz I need long nails for them :(((((
But if you do have long nails, this stuff is not to miss out on, go get em!

(click the pic to enlarge)

OK, so overall, I am very pleased with the products from Nail Delights. Best thing about them is that they have extremely affordable items, and a huge range of products. By huge, I mean huuuuuuuuge! I strongly recommend shopping from Nail Delights. They have something for everyone.

Review: Nail Delights(part 2 of 3)

This is part 2 of 3 of the review for nail delights.
I think this 3D nail art pen was my fav product from nail delights. It is only for £1.50, but the quality was splendid! Veryyyyy easy and comfortable to use, even if you have the shakiest hands in the world, you would be able to make a good design with it, it was extremely easy to control :))))))))
And best of all, you know those beautiful 3D acrylic designs that pros make, those flowers and stuff, the thick gel kind of polish in this pen will give you the same effect, even if it is an illusion. I think I might have to get more of these, this product is a must-have for every nail art enthusiast, and even others. OHHHHHH, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
buy it here: http://www.naildelights.com/3d-nail-art-paint-pen-yellow-p-1085.html
( you can get other colors as well, they have a good enough range)

In my package I received a packet of Tiny Transparent Green Beads. These Beads vary in size but are approximately 0.5-1.5mm in diameter.

Supplied in a plastic bag. I have nothin much to say about this, easy to use, though you need lots and lots of top coat, but it's nice :) It's very pretty in real life.

I am going to have part 3 of 3 up soon, I promise :)
